Eric Larson hails from Hyde Park,IL.(Southside). Like many drummers who were watching the Ed Sullivan show in 1964, Eric too became fascinated with Ringo Starr’s rhythmic ability to drive the new music of The Beatles. After receiving bongo drums one Christmas morning, Eric began to teach himself percussion basics. In grade school Eric joined the Marching band & Jazz band. He attended summer band camp to keep playing and learning. Eric acquired his first set of Ludwig drums in 1973 and formed his first rock band in 1974. Eric’s dynamic playing meshes power, complexity, and subtlety with ease. His powerful drumming has been heard playing with local bands such as Altimira (77’-88’), Exodus (77’-80’), Wigglestick (93’-97’), Abstract Begonias (89’-93’), & Chicago area bands such as Saint (80’-84’) recording two records. A founding member of Led Zeppelin tribute band Kashmir (2000-2006) and also Prezence- The Led Zeppelin Show (2007-2010) playing virtually every club in Chicagoland. Also a member of “The Steiger Brothers “ whose wacky wienies & musical parodies have gotten considerably AirPlay on 97.9 “The Loop” FM radio shows of Johnathon Brandmeier & Kevin Matthews for many years.
